The BCFPA and BioAccess Commercialization Centre invite you to a meeting on March 14th, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. to hear the results of recent baseline survey of Canadian consumers’ perceptions of healthy food, ingredients and natural health products. The survey was conducted by Ipsos-Reid for the purpose of assisting Canadian companies in the sector gain a competitive advantage in the home marketplace through a better understanding of the consumer.
The survey explored the following areas of interest:
- Canadians’ perceptions of food and dietary health
- Household health concerns
- Factors in the healthy food purchase decision
- Role of product attributes/claims in the food purchase decision
- Influence of added ingredients on food purchase decision
- Functional food consumption
- Specific foods/ingredients sought for added health benefits
- Retail locations for functional foods
- Gaps in food offering that address dietary & health concerns
- Sources of information for functional foods
- Consumption & purchase of natural health products
The meeting will provide an opportunity to hear an in-depth presentation of the survey results, have an opportunity to ask questions and receive a hard copy of the survey results. The meeting is open to any British Columbia company.
